You can access the Device Registration
Tool as follows:
- Access theFactoryTalk Remote Access Managerand select .
- Click on thecircled plusicon next to a folder: a context menu will appear.
- Select orAdd device remotely.NOTE:TheAdd Device Locallyparameter refers to routers registration only.TheAdd Device Remotelyparameter refers to panels and Windows devices registration only.NOTE: When clicking onDevice registration, a dialog window will show up asking for permission to open theDevice registrationTool. Prior to confirming, flag theAlways allowcheckbox to prevent this message from prompting again during this session. If you use a different computer or a different browser, this message will prompt again.
- Enter the device credentials in the Tool.
- ClickNext.
- TheRouters foundlist displays the routers in your domain that have a password matching the one specified. TheDevices foundlists display other devices, such as panels and computers registered to your domain that have a password matching the one specified.NOTE: Using a password strategy that links password assignment to configuration stage can be an efficient way of provisioning devices in your environment. After configuration is complete, use unique passwords for each device.NOTE:When setting up Stratix 4300 Remote Access routers, the username of the router is alwaysadminand cannot be changed. The default password isadminand shall be changed during the initial configuration.
- Select a device from the list and click onRegisterto open the configuration pages for that device.NOTE: You might be required to authenticate to theDevice RegistrationTool prior continuing with the device registration.
- The newly connected device appears below the other devices listed in the left pane of .
