Channels view parameters (output)

The
Channels
or
Output Channels
view includes these parameters:
Parameter
Description
Channel
Displays the channel number to which this configuration applies.
Output Type
Sets the output type for the channel.
Output Range
Sets the output range for the output type. Ranges vary according to the selected
Output Type
.
Output State During
Program Mode
Determines channel action when the controller transitions to Program mode.
  • Hold Last State
causes the output to remain at the last value sent from the controller prior to being placed in Program Mode.
  • User Defined Value
forces the output to whatever value is entered in the field. The value is entered in the
    ChX
view in the engineering units defined by the scaling parameters for the channel.
Output State During
Fault Mode
Specifies the channel output state behavior when the controller is faulted and is no longer communicating to the device.
  • Hold Last State
    - Output remains at the last value sent from the controller prior to loss of communication.
  • User Defined Value
    - Output to whatever value is entered in the field. Enter the value in the engineering units defined by the scaling parameters for the channel.
High Signal
Sets one of the four constants in the scaling equation.
High Signal
is in terms of the input signal units and corresponds to
High Engineering
when scaled.
High Signal
must be greater than
Low Signal
.
Low Signal
Sets one of the four constants in the scaling equation.
Low Signal
is in terms of the input signal units and corresponds to
Low Engineering
when scaled.
Units (Signal)
Shows the unit of measurement for
High Signal
and
Low Signal
.
High Engineering
Sets one of the four constants in the scaling equation.
High Engineering
corresponds to
High Signal
and helps determine the engineering units that the signal values scale into.
Low Engineering
Sets one of the four constants in the scaling equation.
Low Engineering
corresponds to
Low Signal
and helps determine the engineering units that the signal values scale into.
Units (Engineering)
Shows the unit of measurement for
High Engineering
and
Low Engineering
and for the channel’s input value.
When Communication Fails in Program Mode
Specifies the behavior of the outputs if communications fail in Program mode:
  • Leave outputs in Program Mode state
  • Change outputs to Fault Mode state
