Device-defined data types (1756-IF8)

Logix Designer
and
FactoryTalk Design Studio
programming software automatically creates device-defined data types and tags when a device is created. This table shows the device-defined data types that are created for the device depending upon the the selected communication format.

Differential mode on an 8-channel device means that only 4 channels are used, which results in IF4 in the input and configuration device-defined data types.
** High speed mode on a 16-channel device means that only 4 channels are used, which results in IF4 in the input and configuration device-defined data types.
*** Single-ended mode maximizes the number of usable channels on the device (8 channels for 1756-IF8 device).
