Presentations highlight importance of the right technology roadmap for grappling with changing marketplace
MILWAUKEE — Rockwell Automation provided guidance for using digital technologies to transform industrial production as a sponsor of the 2019 Industry of Things World USA event, March 7-8.
Bob Murphy, senior vice president of Connected Enterprise Consulting at Rockwell Automation, presented Thursday’s keynote. Rockwell Automation also hosted several roundtable discussions about how to overcome the challenges of a digital transformation.
“Getting more out of materials, personalizing products, getting to market faster — these are achievable goals, but they require the intentional transformation roadmap,” Murphy said. “Many companies are eager to use digital technologies to change their business, but they don’t know what they need or where to start. Our goal at Industry of Things World is to provide leadership and inspire a focused digital journey.”
Rockwell Automation is helping manufacturers around the globe, which is evident in its collaboration with Metso. Late last year, the companies announced a new predictive maintenance solution for the mining industry. Metso presented alongside Rockwell Automation at this year’s Industry of Things event.
“Together we’re learning how to best deliver IoT and digital offerings to help organizations improve process and performance and create data-driven businesses,” said Jani Puroranta, chief digital officer, Metso. “Most industries are looking for ways to stay competitive by increasing efficiency. We’re helping mining companies accomplish this by showing them how digitalization of their minerals processing assets and predictive maintenance can improve overall productivity and bottom lines.”
