Access to Data Improves Decision Making

“Increasingly, a challenge our customers are facing is the systematization of information from the large amount of data generated during manufacturing processes. We must organize and deliver this information to decision makers,” Arriaga says. “For our solution, we’re using various tools from Rockwell Automation.”

These include CompactLogix™ controllers and Studio 5000 View Designer® software combined with PowerFlex® drives, IntelliCENTER® software, and FactoryTalk® View software.

“With this technology, operators can monitor information in real time and add value to the decision-making process,” Arriaga explains.

Energy Monitoring Drives Sustainability

To further drive process efficiency, quality, and sustainability, the OEM is working with Rockwell Automation to add PowerMonitor™ energy monitoring capabilities to its solution.

“By enabling customers to monitor energy use by specific processes and making that information available in the cloud for historical consultation, we’re helping customers both optimize and make their processes more sustainable,” Arriaga says.

IMDHER Bühler is also using the variety of training and educational resources that Rockwell Automation offers to increase its expertise in this and other smart manufacturing technologies.

“With these implementations and the improved systemization of data, our clients have reduced their production times while saving energy,” he adds. “When you have the information, you make better decisions and have better processes. You need the data.”
