From a controller with a serial port to a controller without a serial port
When changing from a controller that has a serial port(s) to a controller that does not have a serial port, the process deletes the Serial Port, DF1 Driver, and ASCII Driver objects. If there is no serial port on the controller, morphing a project that contains instructions targeting serial ports no longer functions.
Instructions that target serial port hardware:
Instruction | Description |
ASCII Serial Port instructions (AWT, AWA, ARD, ARL, ABL, ACB, AHL, ACL) | These instructions do not verify. |
GSV / SSV | If Class is Serial Port or DF1, instruction do not verify. |
Message (Message Tag configuration, not instruction) | Message configuration that uses Serial Port Broadcast over DF1. Tags configured as Message are unverified. |
