Network view parameters (tap devices)

The
Network
parameters are configurable and the values appear only when online and there is no communication error in the device profile. The parameters for tap devices include these parameters.
Parameter
Description
Network mode
Displays the network mode.
Network topology
Displays the current network topology as either:
  • Linear/Star
    , or
  • Ring
Network status
Displays the current network status as:
  • Normal
  • Ring Fault
    , or
  • Unexpected Loop Detected
Enable supervisor mode
Indicates that the device is configured as a supervisor on the network. If cleared, the
Supervisor Mode
is disabled, and the device is not a supervisor on the network.
Advanced
Opens
Advanced Network Configuration
to configure advanced network properties.
Supervisor status
Displays the status of the supervisor. Only available when
Supervisor Mode
is enabled. Available values:
  • Active
    - device is the Active Ring Supervisor
  • Backup
    - device is the backup ring supervisor
  • Cannot support current Beacon Interval or Timeout
    - devices cannot support either the Beacon Interval or Beacon Timeout values of the current Active Ring Supervisor
Active ring supervisor
Displays the IP Address or MAC Address of the Active Ring Supervisor.
Only available when the device is in Ring network.
Active supervisor precedence
Displays the precedence currently assigned to the active ring supervisor.
Only available when the device is in a Ring network.
Ring faults detected
Displays the number of ring faults detected on the network since the last power cycle or counter reset.
Only available when the device is a ring supervisor.
Last active node on Port 1
Displays the IP address or MAC ID of the last node the active ring supervisor can communicate with on Port 1 when a ring fault occurred.
Only available when the device is a ring supervisor.
Last active node on Port 2
Displays the IP address or MAC ID of the last node the active ring supervisor can communicate with on Port 2 when a ring fault has occurred.
Only available when the device is a ring supervisor.
Status
Displays the current condition of the ring fault as:
  • Partial Network Fault
    , or
  • Rapid Fault/Restore Cycles
Only available when the device is a ring supervisor.
Reset Counter
Used to reset the device's ring fault count to zero.
Only available when the device is a ring supervisor.
Verify Fault Location
Causes the device to verify the last node fault location on port 1 and port 2 and update the
Last Active Node
parameters.
The
Last Active Node
parameters show information from the last fault until you verify the fault location.
Only available when the device is a ring supervisor.
Clear Fault
Causes the device to clear the Rapid Faults/Restore Cycles fault.
Only available when the device is a ring supervisor and the ring fault condition is
Rapid Fault/Restore Cycles
.
Port Buffer Utilization
Displays the percentage of the buffer that is being used for port 1 and port 2.
Device Port
Displays the percentage of the device port that is being used.
Refresh
Retrieves and displays the latest information from the device.
