Configure Add-On Instructions

Configure Add-On Instructions (AOIs) to add them to your
FactoryTalk Smart Object
 model.
The hierarchy of an Add-On Instruction model does not follow the same hierarchy as an information model. In Add-On Instruction models, nodes and data types can appear at the top of the model hierarchy.
TIP:
The Add-On Instruction must use ladder logic.
To configure Add-On Instructions
  1. In
    Studio 5000 Logix Designer
    , create an Add-On Instruction.
  2. In
    Studio 5000 Smart Object Configurator
    , select
    Configure AOIs
    .
  3. Select
    Refresh information model
     to see the new Add-On Instruction.
  4. Select the new Add-On Instruction.
  5. Select
    Add
     and then select a data type.
  6. Configure the data type properties.
  7. Select
    Add
    . A new model appears with the new data type.
    TIP:
    To add data type to an existing information model, right-click
    Model
    , and then select a data type.
