Time Period page (XY Plot)

How do I open the Time Period page (Properties dialog box)?
  1. In the
    Properties
    dialog box, click the
    General
    tab.
  2. Click
    Time Period
    in the left pane.
Time period properties allow you to set the update rate for data, determine the time zone to use for data retrieval, and set a relative or absolute time period.
The following properties are applied immediately to the current XY Plot.
The following options are available:
Options
Description
Period
Determines whether a relative or absolute time period is used. Select one of the following options:
  • Last 5 minutes.
    Select this option, and then select a relative time period such as
    Last week
    .
  • Custom.
    Select this option, and then specify a date and time for the start (From) and end time (To).
Update mode
Determines the method for refreshing data. Select one of the following options:
  • Manual.
    Select this option to manually update the data.
  • Automatic.
    Select this option, and then specify the number of milliseconds, seconds, or minutes when data will be updated. When using Automatic Retrieval Mode, this value may be overridden if the Sampling Interval is slower than the rate configured here. When this occurs, the word "optimized" displays in the top-left corner of the plot surface beside the update rate and the effective update rate.
Time zone
Retrieves a data set for a particular time period regardless of the time zone. Select one of the following options:
  • Use the local machine time zone.
    Select this option to use a local time zone when retrieving or displaying data.
  • Use this time zone.
    Select this option to use a fixed time zone when retrieving or displaying data. In this case, you can select a specific time zone from a list of all time zones defined by Windows.
