Using data server tags
- Data server tags let you connect directly to controller tags through an OPC data server. For example, you can create an object on a graphic display and animate it using a direct reference to a data server tag in the OPC data server.
Using HMI tags
- HMI tags can communicate with programmable logic controllers through OPC servers to non-Allen-Bradley and Allen-Bradley devices.TIP:Tip:
- Use HMI tags when you need security, minimum and maximum values, units, or scale and offset.
- When you use HMI or data server tags, you must add an OPC data server to the application.
