Change the default application language

When you create an application you select a language for it in the
New/Open Site Edition Application
dialog box. This becomes the default language for the application.
TIP:
  • If a string has not been defined in the default language, it will be displayed as a question mark regardless of the language that was used to open the application at runtime.
  • The current language, which is displayed below the list in the Language Configuration dialog box, is the language you selected when you opened the application.
  • When you save an application's components at design time, the text strings associated with them, such as local messages, captions, and so on, are saved in the current language.
  • In FactoryTalk View SE, when you open an RSView SE 4.00 application that supports more than one language, a dialog box prompts the user to select a default language. If the RSView SE 4.00 application supports only one language, it becomes the default language.
  • In FactoryTalk View SE, when you open an RSView SE application from a version earlier than 4.00, the language you select to open the application in becomes the default language.
To change the default language for an application:
  1. In FactoryTalk View Studio, click
    Tools
    >
    Languages
    .
  2. In the
    Language Configuration
dialog box, select the language the default is to be changed to.
  3. Select
    Set As Default
. A check mark is displayed beside the newly selected default language.
