Home area
The home area is the area in which a component (for example, a display or tag) is located. For example, if a command is issued from a display, the home area would be the area that contains the HMI server to which the display belongs.
Similarly, if you create a display in an area called Cooling and add a relative reference to a tag (for example, FanStart), FactoryTalk View SE looks for the tag in the home area of the graphic display (Cooling). If the tag does not belong to a data server or HMI server in the home area, an error will occur when the display is run.
When you open the Tag Browser, the home area is assumed to be the one for the component (for example, a display) from which the browser was launched. If the tags you select are in the home area, the Tag Browser automatically uses relative references. If the tags are not in the home area, the Tag Browser uses absolute references.
