Global Object

The runtime performance of applications that leverage a large quantity of global objects can be impacted. To optimize the runtime performance of the
FactoryTalk View SE
client, click Compile global objects on the toolbar to compile global objects. After the compilation, global object display will not be loaded in the background. An asterisk shows on Compile global objects with star, indicating that there are pending changes in the system that require compilation.
The following table shows the settings on the
Global Object
tab of the
Options
dialog box.

Description
Enable Global Object Runtime Optimization
Select this check box to turn on global object runtime optimization.
Compile Global Objects
Click this button if you want to optimize the runtime performance, or if there are pending changes in the system that require compilation.
TIP:
With the
Enable Global Object Runtime Optimization
option selected, if you make any changes to global objects, click the
Compile Global Objects
button and wait until the compilation process is completed for the performance optimization to take effect.
In a multi-language project, if you have compiled global objects after you remove a language, when you add that language back, you need to compile global objects again.
After compiling global objects, click
OK
to save the current configuration.
