Switchover
Switches the Active server in a redundant server pair.
The server pair can be
FactoryTalk View
HMI servers, FactoryTalk Linx
servers, OPC DA servers, OPC UA servers, or FactoryTalk Alarms and Events
servers.The system checks whether the currently Standby server is ready to become active. If the Standby server is not ready, the system sends an error message to
FactoryTalk Diagnostics
. If the Standby server is ready, the currently Standby server will become the Active server and the Active Server will become the Standby server.Syntax

<server_path>
is an absolute reference to a server. The path can contain tag placeholders. If the path has a space in it, enclose the path in double quotes.Remarks
If more than one server is running on a host computer, only the selected server pair is affected. All other servers continue running independently.
This command is ignored if the redundant server pair is configured to
Switch over to the primary server when it becomes available
.This command is run only on the
FactoryTalk View SE
Client that issued it. It is ignored when it is issued from a FactoryTalk View Studio
