Create expressions using Expression editor

To create an expression, you can type it in the Expression field in the editor you are working in, or you can use the Expression editor to create one.
If you are in one of the Graphics editors, or the Data Log Models editor, open the Expression editor by clicking the
Browse
button in a column with the heading Exprn, or else click a button labeled
Expression
. This step is not necessary in the Derived Tags and Event editors.
To create an expression using Expression editor:
  1. In the Expression editor, use the buttons below the
    Expression
field to provide the necessary conditional or logical structure, operators, and functions for the expression.
  2. Click the
    Tags
    button to open the
    Tag browser
and choose a tag for the expression, if necessary.
  3. When you finish building the expression, click
    Check Syntax
    to validate the expression.
  4. If the syntax is correct, click
    OK
    or
    Accept
, depending on where you opened the Expression editor.
