The following table shows the options under
General
in the Latched Push Button
Properties.Options | Description |
---|---|
Value | Type the integer value to use for each state. You cannot assign a value to the error state (if the object has an error state). |
Back color | This field displays the current background color for the object or state. Click it to select another color. If the background style is transparent, the application does not use this background color. For objects with a line style other than Solid, the background color is used for the spaces between the dots or dashes. |
Border color | This field displays the border color for the object or state. Click it to select another color. If Border uses back color is not selected, this color appears at runtime. |
Blink | Select this check box if the object’s background is to blink when the object is in this state at runtime. The blink rate is twice per second. |
Pattern style | Select a pattern for the object or state. The pattern appears on the face of the object. The pattern does not cover the object’s border, caption, or image (if any are defined for the object). If the indicator’s back style is transparent or gradient (as specified in the General tab), the pattern is not visible. |

The following table shows the options under
Caption
in the Latched Push Button
Properties.Options | Description |
---|---|
Caption | Type the text for the object or state. The text appears on the face of the object, to give the operator information about what the object does or about the current state. If you have added an embedded variable to the caption, the embedded variable syntax appears in the Caption box, but the text of the variable appears on the face of the object. For objects with error states, the default caption for the error state is Error. You can change it if required. |
Insert Variable | Adds an embedded variable to the caption. Click Insert Variable and then select the type of variable to be inserted in the caption. In the dialog box, specify the details of the variable. After you have set up the embedded variable, the syntax appears in the Caption field. |
Font | Select the font to use for the caption or message. |
Size | Select the font size to use for the caption or message. |
Caption color | This field displays the current text color for the caption. Click it to select another color. |
Caption back color | This field displays the current background color for the caption. Click it to select another color. If the caption background style is transparent, the application does not use this caption background color. |
Caption blink | Select this check box if the caption is to blink at runtime. The caption blinks twice per second. |
Word wrap | Select this check box if the caption or message is to continue on the next line at the beginning of a new word. If this is not checked, the caption or message continues on the next line whenever the maximum text length is reached, even if this occurs in the middle of a word. The maximum text length depends on the width of the object and the font size. |
Caption back style | Click the down arrow and then click Solid or Transparent to specify the object’s background style. If you select Transparent, the object’s background is not filled in and any objects behind it show through. |
Bold (B), Italic (I), Underline (U) | Click a letter, or letters, to specify the font style for the caption, if required. |
Alignment | Click a button to specify how the caption is to be positioned on the object. If the object is a circle or ellipse, the position is relative to the button’s bounding box. |

Image
in the Latched Push Button
Properties.Options | Description |
---|---|
Image | Select the file name of the graphic image for the object or state. The image appears on the face of the object, to give the operator information about what the object does or about the current state. Before you can place an image on the object, you must import the image into your project. |
Image color | For monochrome images, this field displays the current image foreground color. Click it to select another color. |

Image blink | For monochrome images, select this check box if the image is to blink at runtime. The image blinks twice per second. |

If the object is a circle or ellipse, the image is resized to fit in the object’s bounding box, then clipped to fit the object’s shape. If this is not checked, the image is first aligned using the Alignment setting, then, if larger than the object, the image is clipped to fit the object. |
