FactoryTalk Batch Server

The
FactoryTalk Batch
Server is the engine that runs
FactoryTalk Batch
. It is the component that controls system information, phases and recipes. The server allows integration with process-connected devices (PCDs) and third-party software packages. Prior to opening
FactoryTalk Batch View
, the
FactoryTalk Batch
Server must be running and remain active during all batch functions.
The
FactoryTalk Batch
Server operates as a Windows service, which means that the
FactoryTalk Batch
Server can be configured to start automatically and that control of the
FactoryTalk Batch
Server can be given to the Windows Service Manager. Because the
FactoryTalk Batch
Server runs as a service, it does not require an operator to log on to run. Therefore, logging on or off Windows during operation does not disrupt the performance of the
FactoryTalk Batch
Server.
