Calibration Wizard - Measure and Record Values
Use the
Measure and Record Values
view to type the actual value being produced by the device with a voltmeter (voltage channels) or an ammeter (current channels). Measure all the values and enter the values in the wizard before proceeding to the next step. When calibrating channels one at a time, the device applies the reference signal to a single channel. Measure the channel’s reference value before going to the next channel.
There are two parts to every calibration—low reference and high reference. The low reference is calibrated at a low calibration point and the high reference is calibrated at a high calibration point. From these two points, a slope and offset are determined.
All of the channel’s low signals are calibrated (sequentially) and then all of the channel’s high signals are calibrated (sequentially). It may seem reasonable to capture the high and low readings on a given channel and then go to the next channel, but the wizard does not work in that manner.
The
Measure and Record Values
view includes these parameters:Parameter | Description |
---|---|
Channel | Allows configuration of the parameters for the channel. The unavailable channels appear dimmed in the wizard. |
Calibrate | Indicates the selected channels to calibrate. |
Calibration Range | Indicates the value currently configured for the channel. |
Low Reference | Indicates the low reference signal that is expected at the input. Only available when calibrating for a low reference. |
High Reference | Indicates the high reference signal that is expected at the input. Only available when calibrating for a high reference. |
Recorded Reference | Indicates the measured output values in volts or mA. For the multimeter accuracy, see the User Manual. |
Next | Continues the process. |
Cancel | Cancels the calibration process. |
