Equipment Phase Properties - Parameters Tab fields

Use the
Parameters
tab of the
Equipment Phase
Properties
dialog to create or modify the execution of the equipment sequence. These options are available in the
Parameters
tab.

Purpose

Name
View or edit the name of the parameter.

Usage
Select a Local tag or an Input, Output, InOut, or Public parameter. Use this column to switch to another valid usage type.
  • Only Input, Output, and Public parameters can be referenced by a parameter of another program.
  • Only a Local tag can be an alias tag for an Input, Output, or Public parameter of another program.

Sequencing
Select this option to designate the tag as a sequencing parameter.
Only Input and Output parameters can be used by an
Equipment Sequence
. Sequence Manager and
FactoryTalk Batch
communicate with the
Equipment Phase
through parameters with the Sequencing attribute selected.

Data Type
Choose from the list of data types.
The ALARM_ANALOG, ALARM_DIGITAL, AXIS_CIP_DRIVE, AXIS_CONSUMED, AXIS_GENERIC, AXIS_GENERIC_DRIVE, AXIS_SERVO, AXIS_SERVO_DRIVE, AXIS_VIRTUAL, COORDINATE_SYSTEM, MESSAGE, MODULE, and MOTION_GROUP data types do not support arrays. Only use these data types in controller scope, except for:
  • ALARM_ANALOG and ALARM_DIGITAL, which can also be used in program scope
  • MODULE which can only be used in program or Add-On Instruction scope.
If the tag has a
Usage
of Input or Output and
Sequencing
is selected, the tag must have one of these
Data Type
:
  • DINT
  • SINT
  • INT
  • REAL
  • BOOL
  • STRING

Connections
Choose the browse button to navigate to the
Select Tag
dialog and select the tag to make a connection.
OK
Select to accept edits. If all attributes are valid, the modified attributes save for the current
Equipment Phase
and the dialog closes.
OK
and
Apply
are not available if the dialog contains invalid data.
Cancel
Select to cancel edits and close the
Equipment Phase
Properties
dialog.
Apply
Select to apply edits and continue editing in the
Equipment Phase
Properties
dialog. Applying edits runs the same validation as selecting
OK
.
