    • A non-recoverable Safety fault exists, or
    • The project is Safety Locked, or
    • A Safety signature exists, or
    • The Safety Status (on the
      Safety
tab of the controller properties ) is any value except OK,
the Safety application and certain parts of the standard application cannot be edited online or offline. Once the Safety fault is cleared, available options are download, upload, or go online with the controller.
When a recoverable Safety fault exists, editing is available in both standard and Safety applications.
To clear a major fault from the controller keyswitch:
In the Safety controller, non-recoverable faults can occur. When a non-recoverable fault occurs in a Safety application on
GuardLogix
5380 and
GuardLogix
5580 controllers, the Safety task will not run again until you re-download the project. However, this rule is not applicable to the non-recoverable Safety Task Fault - Safety Task Watchdog Timeout (type 14, code 1), Safety Partner Missing (type 14, code 3), Safety Partner Unavailable (type 14, code 4).
When a non-recoverable fault occurs in a Safety application on
GuardLogix
5370 and
GuardLogix
5570 controllers, the Safety task will not run again until you re-download the project, or until the Safety components are reinitialized from a Safety signature in the controller.
When a non-recoverable Safety fault exists, editing in the standard application is still available. However, editing is restricted to only those portions of the Safety application that are accessible while in the Safety Locked state.
Whenever:
