Smart Objects for Safety Functions

When you create a program in a Smart Object for a safety function, the Class must be Safety and the Main Routine Type must be Ladder Diagram. A Smart Object can contain both standard and safety programs.

When you allocate to a safety controller either a Smart Object that contains safety programs or a safety program within a Smart Object, set the Task dropdown to the safety task in the Allocation tab of the Properties pane. Safety programs must be allocated to the safety task and standard programs must be allocated to a standard task.

You can create an instance from a definition of a Smart Object that contains safety programs, standard programs, and a combination of the two.
