Module Properties dialog box - Points parameters (5094-OB16S, -OW4IS)

The
Points
page for the 5094-OB16S and 5094-OW4IS output module includes these parameters.
Tip:
The parameters that appear depend on which module is being configured. Parameters that do not apply to the module are hidden.
Parameter
Description
Point
The point number to which this configuration applies. The number of points depends on which module is being configured.
Point Operation Type
  • Determines whether to treat the output as a single or dual channel.
    • Single
      - Treat output as one channel.
    • Dual
      - Treat outputs as a matched pair. Safety logic simultaneously sets both of these outputs to ON or OFF. If this action fails, the module declares a channel fault.
Point Mode
  • Determines the operation mode of the output point. Available selections depend on the module.
    • Not Used
      - Output is not used.
    • Safety
      - Output is a safety output.
    • Safety Pulse Test
      - Tests the safety output itself using an internally generated test pulse. Pulse testing detects shorts to the 24V power supply and channel-to-channel shorts. The pulse test only occurs when the point is On. The pulse has a fixed state of periodic.
    Safety Pulse Test
is available only for the 5094-OB16S module.
Enable No Load Diagnostics
If
Point Mode
is
Safety
or
Safety Pulse Test
, select to enable no load diagnostics.
Output State During Program Mode and Communications Fault Mode
Determines the behavior of each output when the controller transitions to Program mode. While in Program Mode, the point ignores the outputs from the controller and the output behaves according to:
  • Off
    - Output is 0 or Off
  • Hold
    - Output maintains last state
Latch Fault until reset via output tag
Enable or disable a latch fault until reset via output tag.
  • Disabled
    - The I/O point holds safety output fault indications for one second before checking if a fault exists. If the fault is removed, the point clears the fault status only upon detecting the output command is low. Otherwise, the point continues to check if a fault exists.
  • Enabled
    - The I/O point holds safety output fault indications until it checks if a fault exists. If the fault is removed, the point only clears the fault status after detecting that the ResetFault, in consume assembly channel, has a rising edge. Otherwise, the point continues to check if a fault exists.
Tip:
If the fault is overload or short-to-ground, the waiting time is 10 seconds before attempting to recover.
