Module Properties dialog box - Input Points parameters

The
Input Points
for the input module includes these parameters.
Tip:
The parameters that appear depend on which module is being configured. Parameters that do not apply to the module are hidden.
Parameter
Description
Point
The point number to which this configuration applies. The number of points depends on which module is being configured.
Point Mode
Determines the input mode for the associated point.
  • Not Used
    - Input is not used.
  • Safety Pulse Test
    - Pulse tests are performed on this input circuit. A test source must be used as the 24V source for this circuit. The pulse test detects shorts to the 24V and channel-to-channel shorts to other inputs.
  • Safety
    - Input is a safety input.
Test Source
Specifies the output terminal associated with the pulse test.
The parameter is available depending on the module and when
Point Mode
is set to
Safety Pulse Test
.
Input Delay Time Off -> On
Defines the amount of time for an Off to On transition delay.
The input turns on only if the input contact remains on after the on-delay time has elapsed. This prevents rapid changes of the input data due to contact bounce.
The default value is 0 ms.
Input Delay Time On -> Off
Defines the amount of time for an On to Off transition delay.
The input turns off only if the input contact remains off after the off delay time has elapsed. This prevents rapid changes of the input data due to contact bounce.
The default value is 0 ms.
Transition Time Limit
(5069-IB8S only) Defines the time that the module ignores a discrepancy in input detection so that a slow changing signal does not report a fault.
Select a value from 2 ms to 500 ms. Input discrepancy fault reporting is delayed by the value selected.
The default value is 100 ms.
This list is disabled if
Point Mode
is
Not Used
.
Diagnostics
Opens the
Point Diagnostics
dialog box to view diagnostic information.
Input Error Latch Time
Defines the time that the input module holds an error to make sure that the controller detects the error and provide more accurate diagnostics.
The value can range from 0 through 65,530 ms in increments of 10 ms.
The amount of time to latch the errors depends on the RPI, the safety task watchdog, and other application-specific variables.
The default value is 1000 ms.
Latch Fault until reset via output tag
(5094-IB16S only) Enable or disable a latch fault until reset via output tag.
Disabled
- The I/O point holds safety input fault indications for one second before checking if a fault exists. If the fault is removed, the point clears the fault status only upon detecting the input is low. Otherwise, the point continues to check if a fault exists.
Enabled
- The I/O point holds safety input fault indications until it checks if a fault exists. If the fault is removed, the point only clears the fault status after detecting that the ResetFault, in consume assembly channel, has a rising edge. Otherwise, the point continues to check if a fault exists.
