Network view parameters (bridge devices)
Use the
Network
view to view information about the Device Level Ring (DLR) network or
the Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) network.The parameters are only available when online, and there is no communication error in the
device profile. Parameters that appear depend on whether the device profile is online to a DLR
capable device or a PRP capable device.
WARNING:
PRP/DLR or IP Address switch positions do not match the physical device setting.
This warning appears when the:
- DLR or PRP mode switch changes during runtime
- IP rotary switches change during runtime
Parameter | Description |

Network topology | Displays the current network topology. Possible values are:

Network status | Displays the current network status. Possible values are:

Enable supervisor mode | Indicates that the device is configured as a supervisor on the network. If cleared,
Supervisor Mode is disabled, and the device is not a supervisor on the
network. |
Supervisor status | Displays the status of the supervisor. Only available when the supervisor mode is
enabled. Possible values are:

Active ring supervisor | Displays the IP Address or MAC Address of the Active Ring Supervisor. Only available when the device is in a Ring network. |
Active supervisor precedence | Displays the precedence currently assigned to the active ring supervisor. Only available when the device is in a Ring network. |
Ring faults detected | Displays the number of ring faults detected on the network since the last power
cycle or counter reset. Only available when the device is a ring supervisor. |
Last active node on Port 1/Port 2 | Displays the IP Address or MAC Address for the last active node on Port 1/Port
2. Only available when the device is in a Ring network. |
Status | Displays the ring fault condition on the network Only available when the device is in a Ring network. |
Advanced | Opens Advanced network configuration to configure advanced
network properties. |
Reset counters | Resets the device's ring fault count to zero. Only available when the device is a ring supervisor. |
Verify fault location | Verifies the node fault location and displays the last active node on Port 1 and
Port 2. |
Clear faults | Clears ring faults on the device. |
Refresh | Retrieves and displays the latest values from the device. |

Network fault count | Displays the number of times the Network status parameter
changed from OK to Fault since the
last Reset Counters operation or powerup. |
Transmit count | Displays the number of PRP-tagged frames transmitted over each LAN since the last
Reset Counters operation or powerup. |
Receive count | Displays the number of PRP-tagged frames received on each LAN since the last Reset
Counters operation or powerup. |
Wrong LAN count | Displays the number of PRP-tagged frames received on the wrong LAN since the last
Reset Counters operation or powerup. For example, a LAN A PRP-tagged frame is
received on LAN B (or vice versa). Usually indicative of a wire cross-connected from LAN A to LAN B. |
Unique entry count | Displays the number of PRP-tagged frames received on one LAN, but not received on
the other LAN, since the last Reset Counters operation or powerup. Usually indicative of a loss of connection or loss of frames on the other LAN. |
Duplicate entry count | Displays the number of PRP-tagged frames received on this LAN that were already
received on another LAN since the last Reset Counters operation or powerup. Tip: This count increments during normal operation, and is not an indication of a
fault. |
Multiple entry count | Displays the number of PRP-tagged frames for which multiple duplicates were
received on each LAN since the last Reset Counters operation or powerup. Usually indicative of a miss configured network (such as a routing loop). |
Reset counters | Sets the PRP counter values to zero and then refreshes the values displayed in the
view with the current counter values. |
Last PRP port A fault timestamp | Displays the timestamp of the last fault for port A. None
displays when there is no fault for the port.Tip: To ensure the correct timestamp appears, enable the Precision Time Protocol
and synchronize the adapter. |
Last PRP port B fault timestamp | Displays the timestamp of the last fault for port B. None
displays when there is no fault for the port.Tip: To ensure the correct timestamp appears, enable the Precision Time Protocol
and synchronize the adapter. |
Diagnostics for other PRP nodes | Displays the list of PRP devices detected by the device and the LAN(s) they were
detected on. |
Address | Displays the node's IP Address or MAC Address. |
Node type | Specifies the node's operating mode.

Port A | Displays the status of the node on LAN A.

Port B | Displays the status of node on LAN B.
|
Refresh | Retrieves the latest values from the device and displays them in the
Network view. |
