Rockwell Automation to present educational benefits of new mobile training technology at 2013 mLearnCon in San Jose, Calif. on June 19
MILWAUKEE, June 17, 2013 — Across the globe, manufacturers are facing a critical skilled-workforce shortage. A number of factors – baby-boomer retirements, younger generations disinterested in pursuing manufacturing careers, and the requirements to support automation assets for both aging systems and new technology – are making it difficult to find qualified personnel capable of operating and maintaining today’s advanced production environments.
An upcoming presentation from Georgene Berman, product manager of Training Services at Rockwell Automation, will describe how manufacturers can use wireless and mobile technology to help address the industrial-workforce skills gap. During the session, attendees will learn about the benefits of incorporating mobile technology into their on-the-job training, and they will gain insights into new mobile learning and troubleshooting applications available from Rockwell Automation. Berman will discuss topics including: how to plan for mobile training, creative practices for developing training content, how to incorporate new technologies into training practices, and techniques for engaging different generational learning styles.
Berman’s session will showcase two new tools recently introduced by Rockwell Automation – a hands-on mobile application used to aid troubleshooting on the plant floor, and interactive iBooks that provide a fundamental overview and introduction to the subject of automation. Both tools address new ways to meet the needs of different generational learning styles and offer a range of opportunities for training and development while targeting all experience levels.
