Failed to change the controller type

You have attempted to change your controller to a different type, but this change is not allowed during a download, go-online, or upload when the offline project is Safety Locked or a Safety signature exists.

This error can also exist for the following reasons.

The new controller occupies two slots and will not fit in its current slot.

The controller cannot be changed because the current controller has a module located to the right of the controller or the controller is in the right-most slot and the new controller requires two slots. The new controller must be located in a different slot.

License Source Protection is not supported on this controller.

One or more components in the project are protected by License Source Protection, which is not supported on this controller in this release of the

Logix Designer

application. Remove License Source Protection from the project or components, or open the project using a

ControlLogix

5570 controller or a

CompactLogix

5370 controller.

License Source Protection is not supported for this routine type on this controller.

This project contains one or more Function Block or Sequential Function Chart routines that are protected by License Source Protection.

ControlLogix

5580 and 5380 controllers do not support License Source Protection for these routine types.

License Source Protection is not supported for safety components on this controller.

This project contains one or more safety components that are protected by License Source Protection. do not support License Source Protection for safety components.

Access denied - access to the Controller: Modify Revision action is required to convert the project. See your Security Administrator.

Contact your Security Administrator to confirm that you have the necessary privileges to change the controller type.

Cannot create safety task because the maximum number of tasks already exist. Reduce the number of tasks.

The project you are morphing does not support the number of tasks in the project.

The project contains Add-On Instructions of Class= Safety

The project cannot be morphed if it contains Add-on Instructions of Class = Safety

Cannot discard Ethernet modules

The controller cannot be changed if the project has more Ethernet ports with modules underneath them than the target controller, and the target controller has one or more Ethernet ports. To change the controller type, delete modules from one or more configurable Ethernet port(s) so the appropriate number of Ethernet ports contain modules. Refer to the
