Controller Properties dialog box - General tab

Use the settings on the
General
 tab to view or change the controller name and description, as well as the physical properties of the controller.
TIP: To open the Controller Properties dialog box - General tab:
  1. On the
    Online
    toolbar, click the
    Controller Properties
     icon.
  2. On the
    Controller Properties
    dialog box, click the
    General
     tab.
Use the
General
 tab to:
  • View the type and revision of the controller.
  • View the vendor of the controller.
  • Enter or change the name of the controller.
  • Enter a description for the controller.
  • If applicable, enter a slot or chassis type for the controller.
  • Change to a different controller type or revision.
  • Change the EtherNet/IP mode of Ethernet ports if the controller supports one or more configurable Ethernet port pairs, for example,
    CompactLogix
     5380.
On controllers protected with
FactoryTalk Security
, users must be granted the
Controller: Modify Properties
 permission to edit controller properties.
TIP:
This tab can also appear in the
Connected
 dialog box, so that you can view information from the attached controller without first having to correlate.
