Select Tool File Dialog Box Overview

Use this dialog box to select an application (an .exe file) to add as a custom tool in the
Logix Designer
 application.
This dialog box includes the following parameters:
Parameter
Description
Look in:
Select the directory in which to look for the application.
Go To Last Folder Visited
Click this button to return to the previous folder you accessed.
Note that this button appears dimmed until you have accessed more than one folder in this dialog box.
Up One Level
Click this button to go up one level in the directory tree.
Note that this button appears dimmed if you are at the top level of the directory tree.
Create New Folder
Click this button to create a new folder in the current directory.
View Menu
Click this button to display how the files display in this dialog box.
The available options include:
  • Thumbnails
  • Tiles
  • Icons
  • Lists
  • Details
File name:
Click the application listed in the Select Tool File dialog box that you wish to add as a custom tool in the
Logix Designer
 application.
The application you choose displays in the File name field.
Note that you can click the arrow on this control to choose from a list of recently accessed applications.
Files of type:
Executable Files (*.EXE) displays as a default in this field.
Select
Click this button to add the selected application as a custom tool in the
Logix Designer
 application.
Cancel
Click this button to cancel the selection and close the Select Tool File dialog box.
