You can export alarms, alarm messages, or both from one Tag Alarm and Event Server and then import them into another. This allows you to:
  • Move or copy alarms from one Tag Alarm and Event Server to another.
  • Use conversion programs to convert alarms from one alarms and events system to another.
  • Create alarms using programming tools such as
    Microsoft
     Visual Basic or C++ and then import an output file from the program.
  • Create alarms by adding alarms to an exported alarm file, for example, using Notepad.
  • Modify alarms by searching and replacing, for example, to replace one set of tags with another.
  • Translate alarm messages into other languages.
  • Generate reports about alarm definitions.
To export alarms from a Tag Alarm and Event Server, you must have

 permissions for the server.
To import alarms into a Tag Alarm and Event Server, you must have the following security permissions for the server:
  • Common

    Read
  • Common
     >
    Write
  • Alarming
     >
    Enable/Disable
