Security permissions for the Alarm Status Explorer

You can select only areas for which you have security permissions. Access to alarm sources is controlled by FactoryTalk Security:

If the user is denied Common > List Children
access to an area, child areas are not displayed in the tree view, and alarms in the area are not displayed.

If the user is denied Common > Read
access to an area, the area are not displayed in the tree view at all. Alarms within the area are also not displayed.

To enable or disable an alarm, you must have Alarming > Enable/Disable
permission for the area containing the alarm.

To suppress or unsuppress an alarm, you must have Alarming > Suppress
permission for the area containing the alarm.

To shelve or unshelve an alarm, you must have Alarming
> Shelve
permission for the area containing the alarm.
