Deployment

Compile your
FactoryTalk Optix Application
for your client devices and then run them.

Prerequisites

  • To compile a
    FactoryTalk Optix Application
, the client device on which the application runs must be configured in
    FactoryTalk Optix Studio
. See Configure a client device
  • To deploy and run the application the client device must have
    FactoryTalk Optix Application Update Service
and a valid license. If the client device is unlicensed, the application runs in demo mode, which means that it stops running after two hours.
  • In
    FactoryTalk Optix Studio
    , select
    Stop
to stop any currently running on the client device

Set the active client device

The client device that
FactoryTalk Optix Studio
can connect to on the network to automatically deploy the compiled application is defined as
active
. From
FactoryTalk Optix Studio
, you can also stop the execution of the application on the active and linked client device.
To set a client device as active, expand and then select the desired client device.
TIP: Automatic run after a project is deployed is supported by default on
Rockwell Automation
client devices. Either manual run or automatic startup must be configured for other client devices. If the client device is already running a
FactoryTalk Optix Application
,
FactoryTalk Optix Studio
stops it before deploying another application.
