Filter log records

You can filter records in the shown log. Filtering records makes it easy to view only those records that match your column criteria, without having to perform Quick Search or Searches on the log.
To filter records
  1. Select
    View > Logs
    , or click the
    Logs
    button.
  2. From the
    View
    menu, select the desired log, or click the button to open the
    Event Log
    ,
    Audit Log
    , or
    Diagnostics & Health Log
    .
    TIP:
    If Quick Search results are shown, you can also filter those records by clicking the
    Quick Search Results
    button.
  3. Below the column heading, click alphafilter and select the desired operator.
    TIP:
    The alphafilter icon changes depending on the operator selected. You cannot filter records on the
    Logged Time
    or
    Occurred Time
    columns.
  4. Type the criterion in the cell or position the pointer in the cell and click the drop-down arrow to select one of the following options:
    • (Blanks)
      . Shows only records for which this column is blank. The records are filtered immediately.
    • (NonBlanks)
      . Filter the log so that ALL records with an entry in this column are shown. The records are filtered immediately.
    • Unique Data Record name
      . Filter the log so that only records with the selected entry in the column are shown. The column entries on which you can filter vary depending on the shown log. The records are filtered immediately.
  5. To clear the filter entry from a specific column, under the column heading, click clearfilter. The previously filtered records reappear.
  6. To clear the filter entries from all columns in the log, under the left most column of the log, click clearfilter. The previously filtered records reappear.
