Messages in the status column

ControlFLASH Plus
checks device mode and CIP security configuration when browsing the network and flashing devices. Messages show if the devices are in wrong modes to flash or deploy the CIP security configuration.

The following table describes each message and their meanings. Different messages may show at the same time.

Description
Warning: Device is not in the correct mode to be flashed.
The current device is in the Remote Run or Hard Run mode and cannot be flashed. To flash this device, change the device mode in
Studio 5000 Logix Designer®
or on the device, and then click the refresh button in
ControlFLASH Plus
.
Warning: Safety lock is enabled on this device.
The current device is in the Safety Lock mode and cannot be flashed. To flash this device, unlock the device in
Studio 5000 Logix Designer
, and then click the refresh button in
ControlFLASH Plus
.
Warning: CIP Security is enabled on this device, a loss of communications may result after flash update.
The current device is CIP secured. The CIP Security configuration is deployed by the current computer. When flashing this device, some of the information may mess up and the communication will no longer be secure.
Warning: CIP Security session error. Verify that you are addressing the correct device and that the project configuration includes devices supported by your CIP Security Policy. If this error persists, contact your security administrator or technical support.
The current device is CIP secured but couldn't be connected. This device is unable to be flashed.
To flash this device, contact your security administrator or technical support for solutions.
Warning: CIP Security configuration is in progress, a loss of communications may result after flash update.
The current device is in the CIP Security configuring progress, which means flashing the current device may result in communications loss.
Warning: Module is in explicit protected mode, update not allowed. See user manual for instructions on how to take module out of explicit protected mode.
The device is in the Explicit Protected Mode and can’t be flashed. To flash this device, change the device mode in Studio 5000 Logix Designer or on the device.
Warning: Verify that module pair is healthy before starting update.
The device is in the Implicit Protected Mode and it’s healthy. Ensure that the module pair is healthy, and then flash the device.
Warning: Module cannot be updated while system is running.
The device is in the Implicit Protected Mode but it’s not healthy. Ensure that the module pair is healthy, and then flash the device.
Failed to begin update to the target device. The target device is in the explicit protected mode. Manually Reset module.
The current device is in the Explicit Protected Mode and can’t be flashed. To flash this device, change the device mode in Studio 5000 Logix Designer or on the device.
Warning: This firmware series is not compatible with the device.
The firmware series doesn't match the device series.
