Fallback parameters

The Fallback parameters apply to the following channel mode types:
  • Input, Fallback
  • Input, Timestamp, Fallback
The Fallback parameters include:
Parameter
Description
Disable channel
Disables the channel temporarily by selecting the checkbox.
When the channel is disabled, both IO-Link communication and Digital Input on the channel are deactivated.
This parameter can be changed while online.
Input Filters
Off → On filter time
Specifies the time by which to delay the transition from off to on. This delay is useful for filtering out transients in noisy environments.
Input Filters
On → Off filter time
Specifies the time by which to delay the transition from on to off. This delay is useful for filtering out transients in noisy environments.
Enable timestamp latching
Determines whether timestamps are latched.
  • When enabled (checkbox selected), the device timestamps is not overwritten until acknowledged.
  • When disabled (checkbox cleared), the device timestamps might be overwritten.
Capture timestamp for
Off → On input transition
Determines whether to capture a timestamp when the input transitions from Off to On.
Capture timestamp for
On → Off input transition
Determines whether to capture a timestamp when the input transitions from On to Off.
Enable chatter detection
Sets chatter detection.
When enabled, chatter from a device connected to one of its inputs (for example, rapid transitions from a failed contact) is ignored.
Chatter can cause the device to timestamp invalid input transitions. Typically, chattering signals cause inputs to transition falsely many times in a relatively short period of time.
Chatter count
Determines the number of acceptable input transitions that can occur in a given time period before considering the input to be chatter.
Chatter time
Determines the amount of time, from 1…10,000 milliseconds, within which the number of input transitions are counted.
Diagnostics
Opens the diagnostics dialog to view diagnostic information.
IO-Link port event log
Opens the XX – IO-Link Port Event Log dialog to view diagnostic information.
Disable and delete data storage
Disables Data Storage and deletes the master copy of the Data Storage on this port.
