Quick Connect view
The Quick Connect feature enables the device to perform the start-up process faster, especially the EtherNet/IP communication. Use this view to turn the Quick Connect feature on or off.
Quick Connect On
Quick Connect becomes active the first time a connection is established. Once active, the Quick Connect feature automatically sets all Ethernet ports to:
- Speed = 100 Mbps
- Duplex = Full
- Auto-negotiate = Off
- Automatic Cross-Over Cable Detection (Auto-MDIX) = Off
If you configure BootP or DHCP, Quick Connect changes the configuration to manual and retains the current IP address.
DANGER:
Potential Connection Interruption. When Quick Connect operates, I/O data exchanges occur before Duplicate IP detection completes. Duplicate IP addresses interrupt connections to this device. Connections to the duplicate address node might break.
Quick Connect Off
Turning the Quick Connect feature off automatically sets all Ethernet ports to:
- Automatic Cross-Over Cable Detection (Auto-MDIX) = On
To reset the Ethernet ports to auto-negotiate or the IP address to DHCP request, do one of the following as needed:
- Change the setting on the device web page.
- Change the setting in the host software.
- Perform a factory reset.
