Channel Configuration

Use this tab to configure the Spectrum Controls 1734sc-IE2/4CH HART analog input channels.
On this tab, you can:
  • select the channel you want to configure
  • enable HART communication
  • view input range type
  • select a digital filter time
  • select scaling
Tip
: The module’s configuration information is stored in the controller and the controller configures the module.

Channel
Click one of the channel buttons to display its information on this tab.
Enable HART Communication checkbox
Enables HART communication for the selected channel.
Range Type
Select the channel's input range within 3.42 mA to 20.58 mA
Scaling
Low Engineering
Enter a value in user engineering units to which the Low Signal should be scaled. All values sent to/from the module are in engineering units.
High Engineering
Enter a value in user engineering units to which the High Signal should be scaled. All values sent to/from the module are in engineering units.
Digital Filter
Select a filter time constant for this channel. A non-zero value enables the filter, providing a time constant in milliseconds used in a first order lag filter to smooth the input signal. If non-zero, must be greater than twice the Update Rate. Range is 0 to 20100 ms.
OK
Click this button to accept your edits on any tab and close the dialog.
Cancel
Click this button to cancel your edits on any tab and close the dialog.
Apply
Click this button to apply your edits on any tab and continue editing.
If:
  • you are online in Program, Remote Program or Remote Run mode and,
  • this controller is the owner controller and,
  • you have changed the module’s configuration in the software, when you click the Apply or the OK button, the information is automatically sent to the controller. The controller tries to send the information to the module (if the module’s connection is not inhibited). If you don’t click Apply, your changes are not sent to the controller.
