Configuration

The SLP85xD's Ethernet/IP interface is located inside of the SLP85xD. Configuration may be performed using the APW-Link Weigh Module Configuration Softwaret.
Add-on-Profile (AOP)
The module interface to the Logix controller is configured through a custom, separately-installable Add-On-Profile within RSLogix5000 and Studio5000 Software. When a module from the RSLogix5000 or Studio5000 "Select Module" dialog is added to the project tree, the following items are created in the project:
  • Custom Module-Defined Data Types
  • Corresponding Input and Output tags.
Upon clicking the "CHANGE" button in the Module Definition section on the General page of the AOP, the user selects Revision and Data Format used in the Data Types and Tags. A producer/consumer IO connection using the module's specific IO assemblies and sizes is created.
Other Types of Configuration
Note: Refer to the SLP85xD User Manual for a detailed explanation of the following methods.
DIP Switch Settings:
There are no DIP switch settings for the SLP85xD.
IP Configuration
The Windows DOS utility, IPCONFIG/ALL, can be used to display the IP address of the host computer. The first three groups of numbers in the IP address and the Subnet mask should be the same as on the SLP85xD EtherNet/IP Interface module.
Ping Test
The Windows DOS command, "PING (address of target)", can be used to check if the SLP85xD EtherNet/IP interface module is responding on the network at the expected address.
SLP85xD Configuration
The IP address and other network parameters of the SLP85xD EtherNet/IP interface are configured using the APW-Link tool
APW-Link Configuration Tool
METTLER TOLEDO provides the APW-Link configuration tool to allow a PC to configure the SLP85xD remotely over a serial or Ethernet connection. More details can be found at APW-Link Weigh Module Configuration Software.
