Overview View

Use the Overview view to view the definition of a device, including the device type, revision, electronic keying, connection, and other device-specific values.
TIP: To change the definition of a device, select
Device definition
 in the Overview view.
The Overview view includes these parameters.
Overview view parameters
Parameter
Description
Revision
Displays the device major and minor revisions.
Electronic keying
Displays the electronic keying used for the device. Electronic keying compares the device defined in the project to the installed device. If keying fails, a fault occurs.
Valid values include:
  • Exact Match
  • Compatible Module
  • Disable Keying

Connection Type
Displays the type of IO connection configured to the module.
Device definition
Opens
Device definition
 to change the revision, electronic keying, and Connection Count values.
