NAMUR Status

The NAMUR Status is a standardized device status and color pairing. Red is failure, yellow is out of specification, green is diagnostics active, which is the normal run mode. Added in are "Check Function", "Maintenance Required", and "Diagnostics Inactive". These various statuses and common causes are defined in the table below.

Failure
Due to a malfunction in the device or its periphery, standard operation is not possible.
Communications fault, missing solenoid valve, a pressure sensor is outside of the error limit, etc.
Orange

Check Function
The device is searching for a BüS participant. This status ends after a few seconds.
The device is in Manual Mode, Simulation Mode, or during a firmware update.
Yellow

Out of Specification
The environmental or process conditions for the device are not within the specified range. Internal device diagnostics indicate problems within the device or with the proces properties. Datasheet values cannot be complied with.
Warning, feedback sensor is not working properly, Pressure sensor is outside the warning limit, etc.
Blue

Maintenance Required
The device has detected a deviation during ongoing diagnostics and has implemented a correction. The device functionality is limited. The device is in standard operation but function will soon be restricted. Perform device maintenance.
Maintenance is required. A solenoid valve or feedback sensor cycle count has exceeded the user-set limit. The cycle count will need to be reset to clear this error.

Diagnostics Active
The device is in error-free operation. Status changes are highlighted in color. Messages are sent via any fieldbus that may be connected.
The device is operating normally.
White

Diagnostics Inactive
The device is powered on. Status conditions are not displayed. Messages are not listed in the message list or transmitted via any connected fieldbus. The device is running within its specifications.
The device is ignoring any changes to the device NAMUR Status. Errors will not be displayed.
