Overview view parameters

The
Overview
 view includes these parameters.
TIP:
The available parameters in the
Overview
 view are based on the device being configured. Parameters that do not apply to the device are hidden.
Parameter
Description
Series
Displays the device series.
Revision
Displays the device major and minor revisions.
Electronic keying
Displays the electronic keying used for the device. Electronic keying compares the device defined in the project to the installed device. If keying fails, a fault occurs.
Valid values include:
  • Exact Match
  • Compatible Module
  • Disable Keying

Connection
Displays the Connection Type and the Communication Format.
Rack Connection
Displays the connection to communicate with the I/O devices in the remote chassis. Valid values include:
  • None
    - Direct connection from the controller to the device.
  • Data
     - Data is limited to the basic status and input data in order to optimize the number of connections via a Rack Connection.
  • Listen Only - Data
     - An I/O connection where another controller owns/provides the configuration data for the device. A controller using a listen only connection does not write configuration. It can only establish a connection for the device when the owner controller is actively controlling.
Input Data / Output Data
Displays the input or output data type for the device.
Data Format
Displays the type of data transferred between the device and controller.
Counters
Displays the counter number for the device.
Chassis size
Displays the chassis size of the device.
Configured by
Displays the entity that configures the device.
Muting Lamp Points
Displays the muting lamp points for the device.
Device definition
Opens
Device definition
 to change the revision, electronic keying, and other device specific values.
Safety Network Number
Enter a 48-bit number to prevent the acceptance of connection requests that have been misdirected by an intervening bridge device. Safety devices connected to the same bridge device need not be on the same safety network; they may have different safety network numbers.
Choose from the following two formats.
  • Time-based
     - The safety network number is generated based on the creation date and time (to the millisecond) of the device.
  • Manual
     - You enter a number from 1 through 9999, per network type.
This field appears shaded in the Run, Safety Locked, and Safety Signature modes.
