Output Ramping Rate Limiting

Output Ramping Rate Limiting limits the speed at which an analog output signal can change. This prevents fast transitions in the output from damaging the devices that an output module controls.
Output Ramping Types
Output Ramping
Scenario in which Output Ramping Rate Limiting applies
Ramp in Run Mode
When the output value changes to the new output value received from the owner-controller in Run Mode.
Ramp to Program Mode
When the present output value changes to the Program value after a Program command is received from the controller.
Ramp to Fault Mode and Final Fault State
When the present output value changes to the Fault value after a communication fault occurs.
In Module Properties dialog, go to Chxx - Limits view to configure the Output Ramping Rate Limiting parameters.
The maximum rate of change in outputs is expressed in engineering units per second and set in the Ramp Rate field.
IMPORTANT: When HART is enabled, the max ramping rate allowed in Run Mode is 833.33%/s.
