Switch or add servers

Switch to another Updater server to view and manage machines on that server or add a server to the server list.
When switching or adding a server, the
FactoryTalk
 Updater server verifies the credentials of the client machines. The server requests credentials when the client and server are on different machines. The server does not request credentials when the client and server are on the same machine.
To switch or add servers
  1. On the main menu bar, select
    Switch Server
    .
  2. Select a server from the list to switch to that server. When requested, enter the
    User Name
     and
    Password
     credentials for the
    Windows®
    account of the Server machine.
  3. To add a server to the list, select the
    add
     icon addicon_Updater to open the
    Add New Server
     dialog box.
  4. Enter the name or IP address of the server to add. When requested, enter the
    User Name
     and
    Password
     credentials for the
    Windows®
    account of the Server machine.
  5. Select
    OK
    . Updater automatically switches to the new server.
