Find, group, and add devices for monitoring
How do I open the Find Machines dialog box?
On the Updater main page, in the main menu bar, select 
Find Machines

Use the
Find Machines
dialog box to find and group devices on a network and add them to the main page for monitoring.To add devices
- On the main menu bar, select theFind Machinesicon
to open the
Find Machinesdialog box and perform one of the following actions:- To scan the network and find machines automatically, selectAuto Discover.
- To search for machines using an IP address or a range of addresses, selectManual. To search for a specific machine, selectSingleand enter the machine's IP address. To search for machines within a range of IP addresses, selectRangeand enter the range of IP addresses.
- SelectFIND MACHINESto locate machines that are not connected to the current server. The found machines appear in a table that lists each machine's name and IP address. Found machines areUngroupedby default.
- To assign a machine to an existing group, select the menu icon
beside the group name, and then select a group. Machines left ungrouped appear only in the
All Machineslist.TIP: To add multiple machines to the same group, select the checkboxes of the machines, select the menu iconin the
Groupcolumn, and then select a group. - To assign a machine to a new group, select the menu icon
beside the group name, and then select
+. Type the group name, and then pressEnter. - To edit a group name or delete a group, select the menu icon
in the
Groupcolumn, and then hover over a group. Select theEditiconto edit the group name, or select the
Deleteiconto delete the group. All machines in a deleted group revert to
Ungrouped.
- Select the checkboxes of the machines, and then selectADD MACHINES.
- In theEnter the Credentialdialog box, enter the administrator's username and password of the selected machines, and then selectOK.
- In theFind Machinesdialog box, selectSAVE.
