Find, group, and add devices for monitoring

How do I open the Find Machines dialog box?
On the Updater main page, in the main menu bar, select
Find Machines
FindMachinesIcon.
Use the
Find Machines
dialog box to find and group devices on a network and add them to the main page for monitoring.
To add devices
  1. On the main menu bar, select the
    Find Machines
    icon FindMachinesIcon. to open the
    Find Machines
    dialog box and perform one of the following actions:
    • To scan the network and find machines automatically, select
      Auto Discover
      .
    • To search for machines using an IP address or a range of addresses, select
      Manual
      . To search for a specific machine, select
      Single
      and enter the machine's IP address. To search for machines within a range of IP addresses, select
      Range
      and enter the range of IP addresses.
  2. Select
    FIND MACHINES
    to locate machines that are not connected to the current server. The found machines appear in a table that lists each machine's name and IP address. Found machines are
    Ungrouped
    by default.
    • To assign a machine to an existing group, select the menu icon dropdown_menuIcon beside the group name, and then select a group. Machines left ungrouped appear only in the
      All Machines
      list.
      TIP: To add multiple machines to the same group, select the checkboxes of the machines, select the menu icon menuIcon_lines in the
      Group
      column, and then select a group.
    • To assign a machine to a new group, select the menu icon dropdown_menuIcon beside the group name, and then select
      +
      . Type the group name, and then press
      Enter
      .
    • To edit a group name or delete a group, select the menu icon menuIcon_lines in the
      Group
      column, and then hover over a group. Select the
      Edit
      icon editIcon to edit the group name, or select the
      Delete
      icon deleteIcon to delete the group. All machines in a deleted group revert to
      Ungrouped
      .
  3. Select the checkboxes of the machines, and then select
    ADD MACHINES
    .
  4. In the
    Enter the Credential
    dialog box, enter the administrator's username and password of the selected machines, and then select
    OK
    .
  5. In the
    Find Machines
    dialog box, select
    SAVE
    .
TIP: On the main page, drag and drop to add machines to a group. Hover over a group name and select the
Edit
icon editIcon or the
Delete
icon deleteIcon to edit or delete a group.
