Download and deploy patches

Use the
Machines
 view to download the latest patch available for installed
Rockwell Automation
 software. Before downloading patches, sign in to the
Rockwell Automation
 Product Compatibility and Download Center (PCDC), and sign in to the server as an administrator.
To download and deploy patches
  1. On the main menu bar, select
    Account
    .
  2. Under
    PCDC LOGIN
    , select
    GO TO LOGIN PAGE
    .
  3. On the PCDC webpage, enter your email and password, and then select
    Sign in
    .
  4. Select
    SERVER LOGIN
     and enter your username and password to sign in to the server as an administrator.
  5. From the
    Machines
     view, select the applications to update.
    TIP: To view information for a patch, select the information icon FTU_infoicon to open the release notes from the PCDC.
  6. Select
    Download and Deploy
    . The
    Download and Deploy Patches
     dialog box lists the machines to be updated. Select
    More Details
     to see a list of the patches that will be deployed.
  7. Select the time for installing patches and restarting the patched machines:
    • Select
      Immediately
       to install patches or restart machines when you select
      DEPLOY
      .
    • Select
      Specific Time
       to enter a date and time for the installation and restart.
      • To use the time zone configured on the Updater client machine, select
        Time zone based on the client's local time
        . By default, the checkbox is not selected, and FactoryTalk Updater uses the time zone configured on the agent machines to be patched.
  8. Select
    DEPLOY
    .
  9. In the
    End User License Agreements
     dialog box, select
    ACCEPT
    .
  10. In the
    Enter the Credential
     dialog box, enter the administrator's username and password of the selected machines, and then select
    OK
    .
  11. When the process is complete, select
    Results
     for a summary of the operation.
