Import a project

Use the
Welcome
 page or the
File
 menu to import a project to
FactoryTalk Design Workbench
.
  • You cannot import a project created in a later version of
    FactoryTalk Design Workbench
     to an earlier version.
  • You can import a project with the following controller types from
    Connected Components Workbench
     version 22.00 or 23.00 to
    FactoryTalk Design Workbench
    :

  • You cannot import a project created in
    FactoryTalk Design Workbench
     to
    Connected Components Workbench
    .
  • The import file format is CCWARC for
    Connected Components Workbench
     projects or FTDWA for
    FactoryTalk Design Workbench
     projects.
Prerequisites
  • Close any open project.
  • The controller is offline.
To import a project
  1. Open
    Import project
     by doing one of the following:
    • From the
      Welcome
       page, select
      Import project
      .
    • From the
      File
       menu, select
      Import project
      .
  2. In
    Import project
    , select
    Browse
    .
  3. In
    Open
    , locate and select the file, and then select
    Open
    .
  4. In
    Import project
    , select
    Import
    .
    Duplicated project names are appended with a number to avoid overwriting the existing project files.
