Remote LCD configuration page

The
remote LCD
configuration page is available for L20E, L50E, and L70E controllers. Use the page to do the following actions:
  • Open the
    LCD variables
    view to select which variables to monitor using the LCD module.
  • Open the
    Serial Port
    configuration page to view and configure serial port settings.
  • Turn on push button key read.
  • Specify backlight settings for the LCD.
  • Specify a message and the message display settings for the LCD.
Remote LCD module configuration settings
Setting
Description
Configure the serial port for remote LCD
Switches between using the serial port settings and the default Common Industrial Protocol settings for the remote LCD.
  • Select the checkbox to overwrite the serial port settings using the remote LCD settings, and then the Serial Port configuration page becomes read-only.
  • Clear the checkbox to use the serial port settings that you configured on the
    Serial Port
    configuration page.
Remote LCD settings are used by default.
Status
Indicates the status of the remote LCD as
Connected
or
Disconnected
.
  • Connected
    : The controller is online and the remote LCD is detected.
  • Disconnected
    : The controller is offline and the remote LCD is not detected.
LCD variables
Opens the
LCD variables
view that is available when the controller is offline.
Up to 400 variables are supported for the remote LCD display. Exceeding the limit will lead to building problems.
Hardware Settings
Enable push button key read
Turns on or turns off the push button key read for the remote LCD. It is turned on by default.
Backlight mode
Specifies the backlight behavior for the remote LCD. Options are as follows:
  • Always off
  • Interval
  • Always on
Interval
is the default selection.
Time
Specifies the backlight interval when
Backlight mode
is set to
Interval
. The value is from 10 through 120 seconds. The default value is 30.
Contrast
Specifies the backlight contrast on the LCD. The value is from 0 through 100 percent. The default value is 50 percent.
Startup Message
Display time
Specifies the duration for which the startup message is displayed on the LCD.
The value is from 1 through 30 seconds. The default value is 3 seconds.
Font size
Specifies the font size of the startup message on the LCD. Options are as follows:
  • Small (8x8 pixels)
  • Large (8x16 pixels)
  • Extra large (16x16 pixels)
Large (8x16 pixels)
is the default selection.
Max size
Shows the maximum length of the startup message based on the
Font size
selection.
The value is read-only.
Message
Specifies the startup message for the remote LCD.
The default startup message is
2080-REMLCD
.
English characters offer the optimal preview result.
Preview
Displays the startup message as it appears on the LCD.
