LCD Module configuration page

The
LCD Module
configuration page is available for
Micro810
controllers. Use the page to do the following actions:
  • Add an LCD module to the
    Micro810
    controller configuration.
  • Back up user programs and function files to the LCD module.
  • Restore user programs and function files from the LCD module to the
    Micro810
    controller configuration.
  • Open the
    LCD variables
    view to select which variables to monitor using the LCD module.
  • View the connection status of the LCD module.
  • Configure the hardware settings for
    push button key read
    .
LCD module configuration settings
Setting
Description
Attach LCD module
Determines whether to add the LCD module to the
Micro810
controller project.
By default, the LCD module is not part of the
Micro810
controller project.
Status
Indicates the status information of the LCD module and the controller.
Status includes the following read-only values:
  • Installed
    : The controller is connected and an LCD module is part of the project.
  • Not installed
    : The controller is connected and an LCD module is not part of the project.
  • Disconnected
    : The controller is offline.
  • Connected
    : The controller is online.
Diagnose
Opens the controller diagnostics view. The
Diagnose
button is available when the controller is online.
LCD variables
Opens the
LCD variables
view. The view is available when the following conditions are met:
  • An LCD module is part of the project.
  • The controller revision is 7.
  • The
    Micro810
    controller is offline.
You can select up to 200 variables to monitor using the LCD module's
Main
menu. Exceeding the limit will result in build problems.
LCD Module Settings
Enable push button key read
Turns on the KEY_READ function block instructions that read the key status of the LCD module.
By default, the KEY_READ function block instructions are turned off.
Backlight mode
Specifies the backlight behavior for the remote LCD. Options are as follows:
  • Always off
  • Interval
  • Always on
Interval
is the default selection.
Time
Specifies the backlight interval when
Backlight mode
is set to
Interval
. The value is from 10 through 120 seconds. The default value is 30.
Contrast
Specifies the backlight contrast on the LCD. The value is from 0 through 100 percent. The default value is 50 percent.
Backup/Restore
Load on power up
Specifies LCD module behavior when turning on the controller. Options are as follows:
  • Load always
    : Load the user program from the LCD each time the
    Micro810
    controller is turned on.
  • Load on memory error
    : Loads the user program when memory faults occur. Memory faults occur when the user program in the controller is deleted or cannot be loaded.
  • Disabled
    : Does not load the user program from the LCD module.
The default setting is
Disabled
.
Back up to the LCD module
Starts backing up user programs and 
Micro810
controller project files to the LCD module. The
Backup to the LCD module
button is available when the following conditions are met:
  • The LCD module is connected to the controller.
  • The
    Micro810
    controller is in
    Remote program
    mode.
  • There is no fault related to the
    Micro810
    controller.
  • A backup and restore process is not in progress.
Restore from the LCD module
Starts restoring user programs and
Micro810
controller project files from the LCD module to the project.
If the 2080-LCD hardware is secured with a password, the controller password must align with the 2080-LCD password.
The
Restore from the LCD module
button is available when:
  • The LCD module is connected to the controller.
  • The
    Micro810
    controller is in
    Remote program
    mode.
  • The LCD module stores a project.
  • The project is compatible.
  • The controller password and the 2080-LCD password match.
  • There is no fault related to the
    Micro810
    controller.
  • A backup and restore process is not in progress.
