Secure the controller with a password
Create a password for the
Micro800
controller to prevent unauthorized access to the configuration and programming in the controller.When the controller is configured with a password, you must enter the password before doing any of the following:
- Connect to the controller.
- Change the controller password.
- Clear the controller password.
IMPORTANT:
If the existing password is forgotten or lost, there is no way to recover, change, or clear the controller password.
- If a controller fault occurs when configuring password protection, restart theMicro800controller and repeat the steps to ensure that the configuration change completes successfully.
- For controller firmware revision 10.0 and later, clearing passwords is not supported.
Prerequisites
- Connect to theMicro800controller and set the controller toProgrammode.
To secure the controller with a password
- OpenChange password for <controller-name>by doing one of the following:
- InConnection, selectSecure, and then selectSet password.
- InProject Organizer, right-click the controller, and then select .
- InProject Organizer, select the controller, and then from the menu bar, select .
- InChange password for <project-name>, enter a password. Passwords must be 8 to 64 characters long, which can include letters, numbers, spaces, and any keyboard symbols.
- InConfirmation, enter the exact password again.
- (optional) To view the password, select
.
- SelectOK.
