Change General Logix Designer Application Display Preferences

You can configure the application display to suit your work preferences, improving performance and efficiency. Use the display settings to show or hide the Localized Translation Viewer and to set the character per width and text justification in the tag and user-defined data type descriptions.
To change the application display preferences:
  1. From the
    Tools
    menu, choose
    Options
    to open the
    Workstation Options
    dialog box.
  2. Click the
    Application
    >
    Display
    category.
  3. Select the
    Show Full Drag
check box if you want to display a picture of the object you are dragging.
If you select this option, when you drag an object (for example, rung, branch, instruction, or operand), the editor displays a picture of what is being dragged. When this option is cleared, the editor simply displays the normal dragging cursor.
  4. Select the
    Fade Inactive Windows
check box if you want inactive windows in the Logix Designer application to have a faded appearance.
  5. Select the
    Show Localized Documentation Viewer
    check box to display the
    Localized Documentation Viewer
. Clear the check box and the Localized Documentation Viewer does not display.
  6. Under the
Tag and User Defined Type Description Display
    heading, configure the following parameters:
    • In
      Tag Description Display Width
, enter the number of characters you wish to use per line in your tag descriptions.
Valid values range from 10 through 40 characters. Setting this value ensures that the number of characters on each line remains constant, no matter where it is displayed. This can be useful if you are copying your tag descriptions into other applications.
    • In
      Tag Description Display Justification
, choose whether you would like your tag descriptions to be center-, left-, or right-aligned.
  7. Select
Show Task Period after Periodic Task
to display the period, or the rate at which the task executes, under each periodic task in the
    Controller Organizer
  8. Click
    OK
to accept your changes and close the
    Workstation Options
    dialog box, or
    Apply
to apply the changes you made on this tab and continue editing.
