Initial configuration
Before using
Application Code Manager
, the initial configuration must be completed. In this procedure, a database is created, the database connection method is specified, and the default ACM libraries are registered.
TIP:
If the SQL Server installation option was selected, this procedure was completed automatically during installation.
To complete the initial configuration of
Application Code Manager
- OpenApplication Code Manager. On the main menu, clickTOOLS > Database Manager.
- InServer name, select the computer name andSQL Serverinstance from the dropdown list or type a computer name andSQL Serverinstance in the following format:<Computer name>\<SQL Serverinstance>
- InLog on to the server, type theUser nameandPasswordto use to authenticate the connection to theSQL Server, then clickConnect.Statusupdates toConnected.
- InSpecify the database, type a unique name for the ACM database.
- InActions, selectCreate databaseand then clickExecute Task.Once the database is created, anAction completed successfullymessage displays. ClickOK.
- ClickCloseto closeDatabase Manager.TIP:TheApplication Code Managertitle bar displays the application icon and application name followed by the computer name,SQL Serverinstance, and database name formatted as:<Computer name>\<SQL Serverinstance>.<Database name>IfApplication Code Manageris not able to connect to a database the title bar displays (Not Connected).
- InApplication Code Manager, right-clickRegistered Librariesand then selectRegister.TheOpendialog displays the default library file location.C:\Users\Public\Documents\Studio 5000\Libraries\Application Code Manager
- Open the(RA-LIB) ACM 2.00folder. Select all the objects in the folder and then clickOpen.
- TheLibraries Registrationwindow opens and displays the status of the library registration process.Review any errors or warnings that were encountered.TIP:The results of the registration process are also saved to a log file. ClickShow Log Fileto view the contents of the log file.
- ClickFinishto close theLibraries Registrationwindow.The registered libraries displayApplication Code ManagerunderRegistered Libraries.
